2009-06-26 thru 06-27 Dallas Trip : We had a great time on our recent trip to visit our students who live in the Dallas, Plano, Ft. Worth area. We started the evening with a challenging Bible study on the person of Nehemiah. Then we had some time of fellowship with a big King Kong Shower tournament. Then we visited the Ft. Worth Stockyards where we tested out the mechanical bull. Finally we attended the Christian Concert at Celebrate Freedom, where we were free to stand under near 110 degree temperature listening to Selah and Sanctus Real. It was a wonderful time with everyone.

2009-05-10 Grad Sunday : GFC-Austin celebrated its first Grad Sunday! Pastor Manny gave a message to wrap up the 'God's Top Ten' series on the Ten Commandments, a fitting message for our grads as well as students headed off for summer break. We prayed for our three graduating seniors - Andy, Gillian, and Sobeyda - and took a group photo with their sharp graduation gowns. Some of them even shared from their journey with God from this past year, blessing the congregation with their testimony of God's faithfulness. We are very proud of you, grads, and will be praying for you!

2009-05-08 Year-End TFN and Jeopardy : To celebrate the final TFN Bible study of the school year, we had Korean short-rib BBQ, breaking in our new 5.5' monster grill, and had a special message from Pastor Manny through Psalm 1, followed by a personalized Jeopardy game that covered memorable events and messages from this past year. Another special element was the year-end slideshow, which had touching sharings from several students. Though we can't believe our first school year here is already over, we marveled at how God worked during that time and were glad for the chance to remember and thank Him for what He did. We look forward to what He will do this summer and in the new school year to come!

2009-05-01 TFN and Final Gym Night for '08-'09 : With Pastor Manny and Sunny away at a directors' retreat in Berkeley, Bryan took up the mantle and gave a TFN Bible study on Colossians 3. Afterward, we had our last Gym Night of the school year at Anna Hiss Gym. With our biggest turnout ever, we had lot sof fun playing dodgeball, musical basketball, and even 'human foosball.'

2009-04-24 Post-TFN Activity: Price is Right : After our TFN Bible study, we stayed in Calhoun 100 to play "The Price is Right: UT Edition." Fun facts learned were: the price of Gregory Gym's new addition (see the third photo), the amount in millions of $ of the recent endowment given to UT's music program, and the recent astronomical rise in price of Colgate toothbrushes. Despite a end-game rally by Team 2, Team 4 ended up winning, with an incredible "exact dollar" answer that gave them double points. 'Til next time...!

2009-03-20 thru 03-22 Spring Break Outing : Our members went on a relaxing outing during Spring Break to Hill Country area for a time of rafting, hiking & fishing, and of course, eating. We had lots of fun telling stories along our drive, eating delicious pork ribs and the fish we caught, and reenacting the story of Zacchaeus, followed by an exciting round of games (go sisters!), and much more! 2009-02-14 Valentine's Day of Compassion : Continuing a tradition begun by some sisters back in Berkeley, Gracepoint Fellowship Church Austin got to have our first Valentine's Day of Compassion - where we sought to share God's love with others and serve them on this special night. We got to make some new friends at the Salvation Army center, laughing at the silly songs we sang, playing some fun games, sharing the Gospel and decorating cupcakes and picture frames together. We hope to visit again soon!

2009-02-06 Spring Welcome Night - 'Gone' : 'Gone' was the theme of our Koinonia Spring Welcome night - to signify the constant and certain passage of time, and through videos, sharing from one of our members, and a talk from Pastor Manny, those in attendance were invited to consider what the important things in life really are, and how to use our time in light of those things. We also had a great Brain Bowl + Boba time at the end to get to know and have fun with our new friends.
